But more than that — a husband, a dad, and a man who believes the work he does matters.
Here to Help Handyman Services didn’t start the way most businesses do.
Kendall has 12+ years of experience in the trade — carpentry, doors, windows, custom builds, repairs. The skill was never the question. But when we launched this business, we couldn’t get traction. The leads weren’t coming. The doors stayed closed. And after a personally hard year — one that tested our family in ways we never expected — we made the decision to walk away.
Then every other door closed too.
So Kendall stayed busy doing what he knows — serving, working, showing up. And somewhere in that season, we stopped trying to do things our way. We realized God wasn’t closing doors to punish us. He was redirecting us.
We came back to this business differently. Not just as a business — as a calling.
That’s why it’s named Here to Help. Because that’s exactly what we’re here to do.
Kendall didn’t just decide one day to pick up a tool. When he was 15 years old, he helped build his first house. That was the beginning of a career that has taken him through industrial maintenance, across state lines to help his brother launch what has since grown into a successful deck and outdoor living company in Charlotte, and now here — running his own business in Rock Hill with plenty of hands-on experience behind him.
He is the one on every job site. No subcontractors, no strangers. Just Kendall, his tools, and a standard he holds himself to whether anyone is watching or not.
He has an old hammer — one he’s had since he was young — with his name written on the handle. He still uses it. That tells you everything you need to know.
Eve is the one you’ll never see — and the reason everything runs.
She handles the social media, the admin, the invoices, the finances, and the gentle reminders to follow up with the right people. She’s also the one making sure every word this business puts out actually means something.
When two people get married, they become one. That’s exactly what this looks like in practice. Kendall builds and serves on the job site. Eve builds and serves behind the scenes. Neither works without the other. And together — in this business and at their church — they get to do what they love most: serve people and honor God as a team. Kendall leads worship at church while Eve runs the soundboard on Sundays. Different roles, same heart, same mission.
She describes herself simply: daughter of God, wife to Kendall, mom to Alden.
That order is intentional.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” — Colossians 3:23
We don’t cut corners when nobody’s watching. Because He’s always watching. Every job Kendall takes gets his full effort — not because a customer is standing there, but because that’s the standard we hold ourselves to.
This business is a ministry with a tool belt. And we’re grateful for every single person who trusts us into their home.
